We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ross James as our new Head of Football.
Ross has been an integral part of BGC Scotland for the past nine years, serving both as a Board Member and Coach. His long standing commitment and leadership have been invaluable, and we are excited to see his role grow as he helps further develop the organisation.
In his new position, Ross will oversee both our boys’ and girls’ football sections, working closely with our respective Heads of Football to coordinate and plan the trial process and support preparation for this summer’s international programmes.
Ross shared his enthusiasm for the role:
“I’m honoured to accept the BGC Head of Football role and I look forward to working with and supporting the chairman, board and all BGC coaches ensuring best practice through to our centenary year”
David Rowan also commented on the appointment:
“I’m absolutely delighted to confirm that after our recent AGM, we can now confirm the appointment of Ross James as our new Head of Football. Ross takes the lead on all football-related matters with immediate effect and will be supported by John Beatt (Head of Girls Football) and Jimmy Robertson (Head of Boys Football). Having volunteered with Ross for a number of years, I can honestly say he is a fantastic appointment bringing constant drive for improvement, calmness, and professionalism.”
Please join us in congratulating Ross on this exciting and well-deserved appointment, which will carry through to our Centenary Year in 2028.
