It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Russell Todd.
Russell had been part of the BGC Scotland family since 2008, giving his time, energy and passion across a number of important roles, from Board Member to Coach. He coached our U17 and U19 Boys teams and, more recently in 2024, took on the role of Head of Boys. Most recently, Russell continued to support our Boys section in an advisory capacity. In recognition of his exceptional service, Russell was awarded a 10 year Boys and Girls Clubs Cap in 2019 and latterly a Lifetime Honorary Membership of BGC Scotland in July 2025.
Russell’s contribution to BGC Scotland and to youth, amateur and junior football across the country was truly outstanding. He will be remembered not only for what he gave to the game, but for the care, encouragement and commitment he showed to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all at BGC Scotland and throughout the wider football community.
